What is the ONE thing you wish you learned in school? Most people respond with "how to manage my money!" We are seeking volunteers to help prepare Cohoes students to be smart with their money, using JA Finance Park curriculum.
JA Finance Park volunteers teach students about basic essential life skills, including:
- Personal finance decisions related to income, budgeting, and savings.
- The differences between credit and debit.
- Financial factors to consider when buying a home, having children, getting married, and having pets.
- This program culminates in an engaging simulation in which students get an avatar, career, paycheck, and put their budgeting skills into action!
Volunteers use the JA curriculum and bring these concepts to life with their personal stories!
What to expect:
· Virtual training (50 min).
· Minimum requirement is 2 or 3
in-person lessons (one per week)
approximately 45 minutes each
