South End Earth Day (SEED) is the South End’s annual neighborhood beautification event. Every year since 2011, over 200 residents and volunteers have gathered at South End Earth Day to celebrate the earth while giving South End gardens a strong start to the growing season. As a result, South End neighborhoods see full gardens and share in increased food security and outdoor recreation.
This year, SEED volunteers will work on April 27th from 9am-12pm at locations across the South End, including Giffen Memorial Elementary School, Creighton Storey Homes, and Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region, and will support community organizations including The Free School, Our Art Class, Friends of Tivoli Lake Preserve and Farm, and Albany 518 SNUG. From 12pm-2pm volunteers will meet at Radix for food, fun, and education!
When you sign up to volunteer, you will receive follow up emails with your site assignment and contact information for your site leader!
