Volunteers Wanted (lots & lots!) for Tulip Festival: Sun. June 1 from 11-4 pm:
Sign up for a shift to volunteer at a Zero Waste Station or at our green info tent. A couple of hours would help a lot!
At our Zero Waste Stations: You will be a Zero Waste Ambassador, helping people sort their waste into food scraps, recycling and landfill bins. We will have 5 stations. Gloves & tongs provided. Food scraps don't belong in landfills! The food scraps collected will be brought to a composting facility where they will be made into a soil fertilizer to grow beautiful, nutrient-rich food and flowers.
At our green Zero Waste Tent: You will be giving out information about composting and waste reduction, engaging people with fun quiz questions at our "spinning wheel" and demonstrating our worm composting bin.
Shifts are: 9-11 am (set up),11-1 pm, 1-3 pm, 3-4 pm, 5-6 pm (closing)
