I think we can all agree that the community is one of the most important influences on a person, especially to the youth of the world. The community really shapes one's character and his/ her day-to-day business. A kid may be interested in playing soccer or playing an instrument to which the community provides the Latham Circle Soccer Club or a cello teacher. Furthermore, everybody in the community is tied together in a rather simple bond: a bond where one of the most important things is to help one another.
The community provides every ingredient that is needed for a person to succeed. A determined person is someone who can take these ingredients and craft something unique to their interests, and as a result, they are able to succeed and the community grows. In the end, the succeeding person is really indebted to the community as a whole and his/her predecessors. In a way, the successor owes it to everybody who came before to push the community forward so that more people after can do the same. In this way, prospective successors can rise up and be the best they can be. Taking responsibility and volunteering can be done by going to the local food bank or trying to deliver food to the elderly. It can even be done by just going next door and asking your neighbor if they need any help(the www.unitedtovolunteer.org website is a good place to find different volunteering experiences!).
It may sound a bit philosophical but a community is really about helping those in need if you are fortunate enough and making people happy. By volunteering, you are making a difference and you are making someone happy. You are making someone's life better! What is there not to like?
In this particular time of crisis, it is even more detrimental that more people try to help those in need because of how COVID-19 has changed the regular run of processes in every such community. It is even more important to reach out and comfort those who are feeling stressed about the current state of the world and try to attenuate their stress. We will all get through it, one way or the other.
