Help us finish the pavilion at our Urban Farm!
Capital Roots' Urban Farm is home to one of our dearest food access programs, the Produce Project. Troy High School students work the farm (with the help of many volunteers) and sell the produce they've grown on site. Extra produce is sold at our market at 594 River St, Troy, NY 12180. These students get a stipend for their work for the season and walk away with a resume full of skills to help them achieve gainful employment. The students also learn cooking skills from local chefs who make meals with the seasonal vegetables.
In order to host events at the farm, we started building a pavilion but have not had the human-power to complete it! Please help us finish our pavilion so we can host fundraisers on site for the Produce Project. We want to keep providing job skills and support to our Troy High School students and your time and elbow grease can make that a reality!
