Love Your Block will be collaborating with the Delaware Neighborhood Association to identify and remove Celastrus orbiculatus (Oriental Bittersweet) from the City of Albany's Whitehall Park.
Volunteers will be expected to pull out as much root as possible of smaller instances of Celastrus and flag larger portions to be taken care of by professionals within the next month.
Love Your Block and the Neighborhood Association will provide all necessary tools and supplies. Volunteers should bring a pair of gardening gloves, water bottle, and water proof shoes. The infested area of the park also retains a lot of standing water.
