Description

South End Earth Day (SEED) is an annual Block Party and gardening centered event aimed at kick starting various community gardens in Albany's South End Neighborhood along with promoting environmental information and resources and of course celebrating Earth Month.

The first half of the event from 10 am to 1 pm will involve volunteering at up to 8 different community gardens to remove weeds, prepare beds for planting, pick up litter, prune back overgrowth, and transplant starts and sow seeds.

The second half will be Block Party Festivities from 1 - 4 pm with food, music, live performances, tabling, organizations, games and activities for all ages. Radix needs volunteers to assist with event set up, participate in community gardening, help with Block Party facilitation (i.e. grilling and serving food, managing waste, and handing out information and materials), and clean up after the end of the event.

This event signup is for Block Party Festivities ONLY. If you are interested in volunteering at one of the Community Gardens, please search for "Radix South End Earth Day (SEED) - Community Gardens".
