The West Hill Refugee Welcome Center (RWC) works to help refugees with their long term transition and relocation to the City of Albany's West Hill Neighborhood. Love Your Block will be assisting them with 2 out of their 3 community garden spaces used to grow food for the surrounding neighbors and weekly food pantry. Volunteers will be expected to shovel and rake mulch and compost, remove weeds, pick up litter, prep beds for planting, transplant starts and seeds, and water. All tools and materials will be provided by RWC and Love Your Block will supply all necessary tools and materials. We recommend wearing clothes that can get dirty and bringing gardening gloves and a water bottle if you have one.
