Volunteer: Sexual Assault hotline volunteers needed

As a Volunteer Counselor/Advocate and/or intern with our agency, you will answer calls that come into our 24-hour sexual assault and crime victim’s crisis hotline. You will help victims and secondary victims regain control of their lives by providing emotional support, information and referrals, active listening, and crisis intervention, and will complete an initial screening of clients for an elder abuse shelter. Additionally, you will be available to meet survivors at local hospitals where they receive medical treatment following a violent crime. Volunteers and interns are required to take 3 twelve-hour shifts per month on our hotline, attend monthly case meeting/in-services, and complete 10 hours of continuing education credit annually.
