Volunteer Opportunities From: United Way of the Greater Capital Region

Are you passionate about putting an end to Alzheimer’s disease? Do you want to get more involved with the Alzheimer’s Association and help us to spread awareness and expand our reach in your community? Then we need you!

We are looking for effective communicators who can help us to conduct community outreach and represent the Alzheimer's Association in your community, in a hybrid capacity of virtual and in-person (up to the volunteers comfort level). Some of the activities a Community Representative can engage in:

- Distributing Alzheimer’s Association materials in community (restocking pamphlets at stores, offices, etc.)
- Offering 20-minute introduction to Alzheimer’s/Association services presentation
- Assisting with promotion of programs and events (local networks, newsletters, social media,
community calendars, etc.)
- Connecting the community with Association resources
- Engaging community members in the cause

We provide extensive training and ongoing education.

We are looking for empathetic and effective communicators who can help us to lead monthly or bi-monthly support groups in your county. The ideal candidate would have experience personally or professionally with caring for people with dementia as well as have experience with Zoom (a virtual meeting platform). We provide extensive training and ongoing education.
