Who We Are

Albany Public Library strives to educate, entertain, and empower the community of Albany.

What We Do

Albany Public Library relies on our volunteers to help serve the community in a variety of ways. We would not be able to accomplish all we do without you and your contributions. Our volunteers help facilitate art programs and workshops, guide patrons through digital landscapes, prepare craft program materials, teach unique skills, provide tutoring to students, and so much more!  Volunteers also benefit from their time here at Albany Public Library. Volunteering provides career and skill development, social networking, and teaching or other professional experience. When you volunteer with APL, you create a lasting positive impact on your community as well as your future. Wherever you travel or live next, please know that public libraries and their services will be there for you, and that they can always use your help, too! Volunteers for APL help us achieve our goals of community empowerment and education, while ensuring our resources will connect to as many residents as possible.
